An important role an outside consultant can serve is to act
as an ombudsman for management. As the level of familiarity and confidence builds among the consultant, the executive officer,
the management team and the employees in general, the consultant can play a key role as a sounding board or ombudsman for
concerns or issues of line employees and lower level managers and supervisors that might not otherwise be brought forward
for consideration and resolution. The consultant will analyze the important aspects of the issue or concern and make recommendations,
but still respect the confidentiality of those involved to the maximum extent possible.
